Wilfred (US) Season 1 Episode 9 Compassion

Ryan begins to suspect that his friendship with Wilfred might not be in his best interests. Then he meets a guy (Dwight Yoakam) who confirms the suspicion. Wilfred is troubled by Ryan's tendency to keep to himself ("People are beginning to think you're weird," he tells him), so he sets out to make his human friend more sociable.

Of course, Wilfred also has an ulterior motive. Ryan's nutty mother (Mary Steenburgen) moves in with him after spending 20 years in a "wellness center" and bonds with Wilfred instantly, adding fuel to Ryan's already-considerable resentment of her. Will be aired: Thursday August 18th, 2011.

Previous Episode: Ryan has a guilt complex over the death of his childhood dog, and Wilfred, upon learning of it, goes to otherworldly lengths to help Ryan discover the truth about how the pooch passed on. Meanwhile, Kristen throws a party for her boss (Nestor Carbonell).

The nice thing about the US version of Wilfred is that it didn’t try to copy the Australian show, other then of course Wilfred. Different storyline and a different plot set it apart from its counterpart, while keeping the humor. Although I would like to see more costumed animals on the US version, they make the Australian version hilarious when he is chasing a midget in a possum outfit. Working nights at DISH I usually miss my favorite shows, and sometimes my DVR get’s taken hostage by my roommates, and my shows seem to not get recorded. At least I can count on catching any episode of Wilfred on www.dishonline.com
